MAE ING SHIBORI
Mae Ing Shibori draws its inspiration from the women of the Mae Ing community, who observed how sunlight plays on the water’s surface at different times of day. This observation is woven into a distinctive Japanese shibori dyeing technique, combined with tie-dye and hand-stitched detailing on the fabric patterns, before being crafted into a range of products including bags, hats, shawls, scarves, keychains, and dolls. The Mae Ing tie-dye group has also developed a portable tie-dyeing kit.
