“Baan Water Hyacinth” is a distinctive craft from the Ban Mai Tra Water Hyacinth Community Enterprise in Bang Sai, Ayutthaya, located along the Chao Phraya River.

Using naturally abundant water hyacinth—an accessible, no-cost resource—the community transforms it into handcrafted products that generate income and support a fulfilling local livelihood.

Through experimentation, they developed popular items like the “Warrior Dolls.” After facing mold issues due to humidity, they collaborated with the Department of Science Service to innovate mold-resistant fibers.

This breakthrough strengthened their production and confidence, enabling the community to sustainably grow their craft and income.
